Bloody Maria
Bloody Maria is mostly just a Tactician, which is a good shotgun, but some of the other weapons on this list do more damage. What’s good about this tool is that it has a chance to knock someone down. Any enemy that isn’t instantly blown to pieces is likely to be knocked off their feet, making it easy to shoot them again.
On harder levels, where you might need more crowd control, that knockdown effect can be very helpful, but it’s usually better to just kill your opponent with one blast instead of two.
Sovereign
Sovereign works just like a double-barreled shotgun would if you pulled both triggers at the same time. The huge recoil sends the barrel of the gun flying upward, and whatever you were shooting at is now a bloody mess.
This gun wants those targets to come close to it. When you aim and fire both guns, you do a lot of damage right away. You might be worried about getting swarmed while you reload, but the famous nature of the weapon speeds up reloading, so when the next melee enemy rushes in after the last, you’ll be waiting with a smile.
The Headsman
Most Cyberpunk 2077 players don’t use this weapon because it comes with three punishments. Here’s the deal: This weapon has to have those three drawbacks because it has such a huge benefit that if it didn’t, no one would ever use any other weapon again.
It’s a lot of fun to almost triple your projectiles, especially with power guns. Even if you miss, there is a big chance that the rebound will still cause bleed effects. And since it takes less time to reload, you can just keep shooting until the battle is over. This gun will make it as easy as possible to play blindly.
Mox
The Mox is a tool that’s hard to use. On the one hand, it’s a power weapon that’s supposed to send shrapnel everywhere. However, because the bullets don’t spread as much, it works best as a mid-to-close range head hunter. That’s not bad, but the fact that you have to aim very carefully with this gun might make some experienced shotgun users uncomfortable.
The Mox isn’t higher on this list because to use it, you need Reflexes instead of Body. Mox doesn’t have a lot of Reflexes, but all of the shotgun perks require Body, not Reflexes, so you’ll need a mixed build if you want to use it.
If you fell in love with Judy, you’ll have to wait a few days after “Pyramid Song” ends for Judy to call V and leave a touching message. She’ll say she left Mox at her place and give it to V to keep fighting the good fight.
Ba Xing Chong
When using handguns at a distance, the biggest problem is that the pellets spread out, so you miss more than you hit. That doesn’t bother Ba Xing Chong. This shotgun is a “Smart gun,” which means that every bullet it fires will hit its target. It’s just as strong as it sounds.
Also, the exploding rounds have some AOE and have a chance to knock your opponent over, making it look like you hit them with a bunch of mini-grenades as they go flying. If you don’t like shotguns at all, even if they are famous, use this one for the funny ragdoll effects.
Ba Xing Chong can’t be used until 8 Ball Pool has been won at least once. Before you can raid Adam Smasher’s secret stash, you have to kill him and take his entry key.
Guts In Cyberpunk 2077
The pistol in Cyberpunk 2077 is the same one that Rebecca used in Edgerunners. Like most shotguns, it works best when you are close to your enemies, but it can kill everything with a single, powerful blast.
The chemical and poison damage seems pointless, but you can fire Guts well past its useful range to poison enemies who won’t move close. The best part is that you can get this gun early in Cyberpunk 2077 and never look back. It’s just waiting for its new owner in some trees.
